The company also provides midstream services, such as gathering, treatment, conditioning, processing, and liquids handling with a focus on the Appalachian Basin. In addition, it owns and operates crude oil pipeline system comprising approximately 4,324 kilometers, which connects Alberta and the United States crude oil supplies to the United States refining markets in Wood River and Patoka, Illinois, Cushing, Oklahoma, and U.S. Gulf Coast. Further, the company owns, controls, and develops approximately 7,000 megawatts of generation capacity by using natural gas, nuclear, and wind in Alberta, Ontario, and Québec, Canada, as well as New Brunswick and Arizona, the United States; and owns and operates approximately 118 Bcf of unregulated natural gas storage capacity in Alberta. The company was incorporated in 1951 and is headquartered in Calgary, Canada. TransCanada PipeLines Limited is a subsidiary of TransCanada Corporation.
